John Deere has officially debuted the R4044 sprayer, specifically designed to reduce crop and soil impact. The lightweight, 1,200-gallon capacity sprayer joins the 4-Series Sprayer family. It is 9 percent lighter than the R4045, and it has a more balanced power-to-weight ratio.

The R4044 operates with a 325 horsepower 9.0L PowerTech™ engine, which allows operators to maintain their speed, regardless of terrain changes. It also features ExactApply™, AutoTrac™ Vision, and a 4600 CommandCenter™ display, which can be found on the other 4-Series Sprayers.

"The R4044 is one of the most accurate and productive sprayers in the 1,200-gal. (4542 L) capacity category and is perfect for customers making multiple field applications and want to minimize crop and soil impact," says Doug Felter, product marketing manager for John Deere application equipment. "And with the CommandView™ III cab, it offers advantages in operator comfort, visibility, ride quality and common control layout like our other 4-Series Sprayers."

The sprayer features VF tires for the utmost traction and reduced soil impact. It also has steel booms of up to 120 feet in width. Customers can opt for carbon fiber booms in 120-foot and 132-foot widths for additional machine weight reduction. For dry fertilizer applications, a 200-cubic-foot drybox can also be utilized.

The R4044 sprayer will be available for order beginning in June, with deliveries expected to start by the end of 2018. More information on the sprayer can be found by contacting your local John Deere dealer or visiting JohnDeere.com/ag.
