John Deere is one of many exhibitors taking part in this year’s Farm Progress Show, slated to continue through August 30 in Boone, Iowa. Each year, more than 600 exhibitors participate in the event to showcase their latest farm equipment, tractors, combines, and implements.

Field demonstrations are a mainstay at the show, which take place over the course of three days. In addition, the Farm Progress Show typically features restored antique machinery and entertainment.

The goal of the event is to keep producers up-to-date on the latest Ag equipment, products, services and technology. The Farm Progress Show is in its 65th year.

Each day, there will be cattle handling demonstrations, as well as precision field demonstrations and corn combining demonstrations. A beer garden is being held outside of Gate 1, and “The Noon Show” presented by Max Armstrong and Orion Samuelson is being put together at the Wallaces Farmer Hospitality tent. Both Armstrong and Samuelson will be joining Greg Soulje daily to discuss the latest news in agribusiness as well.

John Deere is featuring two pieces of equipment at the event, including the 2660VT, its variable tillage machine. The 2660VT can adjust the machine right from the cab to handle different types of residue and fill in ruts out in the field. The John Deere 2680H High-Performance Disk is also on display, which allows producers to cover more acres with an operation speed of up to 14 miles per hour.

Tickets to this year’s events are $220 for adults, and $10 for teens between the ages of 13 and 17; kids aged 12 and under are free. They can be purchased online or at the gate. John Deere is located at Booths 144 and 254 along Second and Third Street.
