The Gadsden, Alabama 2011 Allis-Chalmers "G" Roundup Antique Tractor Show will feature a variety of used farm equipment and a brief history of the area's agricultural heritage, according to the Gadsden Times.

Old models of steam-powered machinery, stationary engines and early versions of John Deere tractors will be available for several demonstrations and local children will be able to take a ride on the farm equipment.

The Weiss Lake Antique Power Association sponsors the event, which has run for three years. There has been an increase in the number of participants each year, helping to spread the love for agriculture that the organization was founded to preserve, according to the Post Paper.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Etowah County Rescue Squad, as the power association likes to keep close ties with the local community. This is also one of the reasons that they hold the tractor show, as increased membership is the goal of the event.

According to the Times, the show will also feature arts and crafts for children, local food and vendors that sell tractor parts.
