Construction equipment could be moving soon in Cincinnati as a developer there plans on building a new casino in the city's downtown area.

Dan Gilbert, who is a casino developer, announced that the construction project for a new casino in the city would begin sometime in the middle of 2010. Furthermore, certain members of the project could be in place on the site within 90 to 120 days.

The project's developers have promised to hire 90 percent of the site's workers from the local area. According to television station WLWT, anywhere from 5,000 to 5,200 jobs could be created by the project.

The project should be completed within 30 months, and Gilbert was reported as saying that he and his representatives would work closely with area leaders through the process of building the casino.

Voters recently approved Gilbert's ability to build casinos in Ohio by passing Issue 3, which will bring four gambling sites in the state. Including Cincinnati, casinos will be brought to Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo, and the plan is predicted to create as many as 34,000 jobs for the state.
