The world's biggest manufacturer of farm equipment credits its customers' advice and input as the inspiration for the new machinery it created.

The John Deere Nine-Yard Loader, as the production loader is known, has an engine that will create electricity that will move the machine's wheels. The new machinery also has a hybrid-electric drivetrain with renowned fuel efficiency. The Nine-Yard Loader operates with a minimal amount of wear on the tires and maximum amounts of durability. Its reliability is projected to be strong since less parts will move.

"In addition to fewer emissions, customers asked for durability, fuel efficiency and reduced tire wear," said John Chesterman, John Deere product marketing manager for 4WD loaders. "We've responded with a loader that incorporates four modular, independent wheel drives with electronic traction control."

Built largely in response to requests from quarry and other large loader customers, the Nine-Yard Loader will continue seeing improvements once its released and available at your John Deere dealership within two years.

"We won't rest until this nine-yard production-sized loader addresses customer requirements for maximum productivity and uptime, and lower daily operating costs," according to Chesterman. "We are targeting 2013 for launch."
