Southwest Missouri will benefit from a John Deere outfit committing $14 million to construct a new facility for its re-manufacturing purposes.

KSPR reports the 275,000 square foot site in Strafford will create more than 55 jobs during a five-year period once it's built. John Deere Reman of Springfield stands to benefit each nationwide John Deere dealership because the new facility will serve as a storage and central core processing location.

"This additional facility will enable the growth of John Deere's remanufacturing business," according to Don Flatau, general manager of John Deere Reman. "Remanufacturing is a proven process for recycling components into like-new parts for a highly desirable customer repair solution."

John Deere Reman, which was founded in 1998, presently uses a plant located in the Partnership Industrial Center. The new site will be built on a 130-acre parcel in the Strafford Industrial Park.

"This industrial park will help facilitate growth in Strafford," Strafford mayor Barb Helvey said. "We look forward to continued development and the presence of John Deere Reman in the community."
