Henry Talmage, executive director of the Connecticut Farm Bureau, said recently that local consumers' increasing attention to the source of their food has been buoying farm success in the state, Connecticut's TheDay.com reports.

Hunts Brook Farm in Quaker Hill, Connecticut, owned by Rob Schacht, has grown gradually over the past few years, TheDay.com states. His three acres of vegetables and small-sized fruit have found a market, with people in the state more likely to buy from his produce.

Recently, Schacht presented his operations and some concerns to Talmage, state agriculture commissioner Steven Reviczky and U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, who were visiting regional farms. Courtney will likely have a role in the congressional negotiations for the new Farm Bill, which is relatively unusual for a representative from Connecticut, the news source notes.

For farmers in New England and other parts of the United States, John Deere dealers offer equipment such as combine harvesters, tractors and balers to meet their small or large farming operation's needs.

According to Deere's website, the 612C Corn Head grain harvester features dual auger strippers that limit the wrapping of augers in tough conditions and keep corn ears on the floor of the auger to avoid damage.
