Some people in Florida may have additional reasons to look for tractors for sale, especially since they could pay a pretty penny for having a tall lawn.

According to the Palm Beach Post newspaper, the Jupiter, Florida town council is considering raising the first-time fine for an overgrown lawn from $250 to $1,000 a day. Furthermore, if the measure passes, repeat violations could come with fines as high as $5,000 a day, an increase from $500.

"Code enforcement needs a larger hammer," Jupiter Councilman Robert Friedman said in the article from the Post.

The story noted that lawns in developed areas of the town cannot be higher than eight inches. Other things that are regulated by the town's code include fence height and how many tenants can live in a building.

Though the proposed fines in Jupiter may be high, having a code dictating lawn height is not uncommon in the country. The purpose of having such a rule is a matter of looks as towns and cities try to keep areas looking clean.
