Loggers in Northeast Florida learned about the latest forestry machine technologies, used John Deere Forestry Equipment and enjoyed a traditional low-country boil lunch during the "In the Woods" event that was held by the company and Beard Equipment, according to a release from John Deere.

The release noted that educational sessions were presented by product experts from John Deere Forestry and covered a range of topics that included the newest machine technologies and solutions that help to manage fleets more efficiently.

"It's important that loggers not only know how to run their equipment efficiently but also how to service them properly so that they’re able to cut down on unnecessary repairs and replacements," said Keith Wilson, forestry training instructor, John Deere Construction & Forestry. "We love getting out in the woods with loggers and talking with them about their daily challenges and successes–it helps us do a better job of designing powerful, productive machines that work as hard as they do."

According to the John Deere website, technology such as Advanced Harvesting Systems have allowed loggers to enjoy a more efficient approach to their trade, as cost savings have increased as well as the stewardship of the natural forest environment.
