John Deere recently joined more than 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest in farming technology at the 23rd annual Quad Cities Farm Equipment Show January 19-21, in Rock Island, IL, which drew hundreds of attendees.

This year’s show, which took place at the QCCA Expo Center, was a traditional farm show with a twist, as big equipment took a back seat to smaller, technology-focused displays from exhibitors. Prior to the show, Quad Cities Farm Equipment Show event manager Richard Sherman, explained many area farmers are attempting to make things more efficient on the farm, focusing on more in-cab displays, increased comfort, and control changes that simplify the operation process of modern high-tech machinery.

Sherman went on to say this year’s show featured “everything that’s new — long line, short line, seeds, supplies, chemicals, livestock equipment, grain handling, storage, buildings, replacement parts and all the new technologies so vital for profits, from computer software to GPS systems, plus self-propelled sprayers, seed tenders and an outstanding selection of outdoor power equipment.”

A recent Quad-City Times article specified hundreds of attendees were lined up at the doors on the first day of the show with their families to see the huge machines and talk about the latest in farm equipment and resources.
