A piece of farm equipment from John Deere appears to have been the hit of this year's National Farm Machinery Show last week in Kentucky.

The John Deere DB120 is a 48-row planter that is said to be the largest in the industry. Spanning 120 feet it's 33 feet larger than its predecessor the DB90.

Rob Rippchen, division marketing manager for John Deere seeding, told Hoosier Ag Today that the piece of farm equipment will help farmers get more done in less time.

"You'll get ninety to a hundred acres per hour out of this planter. So it's not inconceivable that a grower could plant two sections of corn in a day," Rippchen told the news provider. "Now, you're going to need wide open fields to do that, but that's a lot of corn in the ground, which is critical in the springtime of the year."

The 44th annual National Farm Machinery Show attracted the second largest turnout ever for the trade show with 306,706 people visiting the Kentucky Exposition Center. More than 800 exhibitors filled the 1.2 million square feet of space this year.ADNFCR-2034-ID-19033727-ADNFCR
