In 2013, Jordan Spieth became the youngest PGA Tour event winner in 82 years by capturing the title at the John Deere Classic. This year, Spieth will return to TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. for a chance to defend his title at the 2014 John Deere Classic, July 10 – 13, according to a recent press release.

Last year’s victory served as a springboard for Spieth’s career as the victory on the fifth hole of a sudden death playoff with Zach Johnson and David Hearn was a critical piece of his PGA Tour Rookie of the Year campaign. John Deere Classic tournament director Clair Peterson, said about Spieth’s return to the event in the release, "Needless to say we are elated and very proud that Jordan Spieth will be back at TPC Deere Run to defend his title. Jordan has proven himself to be exceptional both on and off the golf course, and we are looking forward to giving our fans the opportunity to see him once again."

The John Deere Classic, which brought in $6.32 million for 464 local and regional Quad Cities charities last year, is regarded as one of the most charitable tournaments on the PGA Tour,. In addition to the event being a showcase for some of the world’s best golfing talent, a number of pieces of John Deere golf and turf equipment are often on display throughout the course’s property.

The PGA Tour’s best will soon compete in Silvis, Illinois, July 10 – 13, where Jordan Spieth will look to defend his title at just 20 years old.
