John Deere has announced that its 950K PAT Crawler Dozer is now available at dealers across North America. The crawler dozer is designed for customers who need to tackle tasks ranging from mass excavation to fine grading.

The John Deere 950K PAT Crawler Dozer has an EPA Final Tier 4/EU Stage IV John Deere 9.0-liter engine that can provide up to 280 horsepower. With its hydrostatic powertrain, operators can get up to 15 percent more power to the ground compared to a conventional torque-converter powertrain.

"As PAT blades have become increasingly popular on mid-size dozers, like the 850K, customers have inquired about adding the feature to a larger model,” said Nathan Horstman, crawler dozers product marketing manager at John Deere Construction & Forestry. “The 950K PAT answers their calls and gives customers the power to move large amounts of dirt with the versatility to do finish work. And weighing in at nearly 80,000 pounds (36 287 kg) with a ripper, this is the largest PAT dozer in the industry and will be a game changer for our earthmoving customers."

The 8.6 cubic yard six-way PAT blade of the machine allows operators to move material around to where they want it. The “open architecture” design of the machine also lets operators use their favorite brand of grade-control system. With Eco mode, users can reduce fuel usage and work more efficiently on the job.
