The post-Thanksgiving weekend was a time for relaxation and recovery for most Americans, but the Leonardtown, Maryland Volunteer Fire Department was busy with preparing for the annual Christmas on the Square and Tree Lighting ceremony, according to The Bay Net.

This year's event was estimated to have the largest crowd in the history of the event, as families and children poured into the center of town for a series of events and to see the many exhibits that were present.

The Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department takes place in many Christmas celebrations, as the members travel around the town each weekend during December to set up for events, according to the organization's website.
