John Deere has released a variety of new equipment. Included in the new product release is a line of tractors for agricultural and maintenance use. The agricultural giant has included a variety of new technology in the newest models, but has kept much of what has made the tractor line so popular.

The John Deere 7800 Tractor was manufactured in the Waterloo, Iowa plant from 1992 to 1996, as the agricultural giant sought to provide a larger option than the 7700 Tractor, according to Tractor Data.

Complete with a 6-cylinder diesel engine, the 7800 tractor had a hydraulic system with a capacity for 22.9 gallons and a fuel capacity of 91 gallons. The equipment came complete with a wheelbase that measured 114.4 inches and weighed more than 14,000 pounds without any attachments.

The 7800 tractor had a 158.97 horsepower PTO and an independent Rear PTO with 540/1000 rear RPMs. The machine came complete with hydrostatic power, a standard cab and differential hydraulic wet disc brakes, according to Tractor Data.

Additionally, the 3-point hitch provided the equipment with a real lift capacity of 8,925 pounds.

While the older model provided the operator with a significant source of power, John Deere sought to give the 7280R model a larger engine, a bigger lift capacity and a smooth and manageable ride using the latest technology.

The 7280R Tractor is part of the 2011 7R Series and is also made at the Waterloo, Iowa plant. The equipment comes with a 6-cylinder diesel engine, but the new model was altered to provide up to 280 horsepower.

Complete with an independent rear PTO, the rear RPMs remain at 540/1000. Although the steering still operates with hydrostatic power, the cab has been upgraded to the CommandView II system.

The new CommandView II Cab gives the operator a larger field of view and more ability to effectively control the inner workings of the machine. Several new modifications help to link the tractor and the attachments, providing a new way to steer and automatically make adjustments.

According to the Combine Forum, the John Deere 7280R Tractor has increased the total fuel capacity to up to 133 gallons, and houses a new hydraulic filter to help increase the amount of pressure that can be applied to the system.
