The Nebraska Tractor Test Lab has released results from its testing of the new John Deere 8335R Tractor, which leads the industry in performance.

Located at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, the Tractor Test Laboratory is the official testing station in the United States for standards of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. According to the organization's website, its codes are followed in 29 countries, some of which are not members of the OECD, and test stations are up and running in roughly 25 of those nations.

Division marketing manager at John Deere's Waterloo Tractor Works, Chad Hogan, stated that the 8335R "is the first row-crop tractor ever tested in Nebraska that breaks the 300-rated PTO horsepower barrier." The tractor also broke the rated-engine-speed PTO test record, though Hogan added that these marks will most likely be soon surpassed, because a newer, larger model has recently been submitted for OECD testing in Nebraska.

Hogan said that this model has superior fuel efficiency to its predecessor and 28 percent more efficiency than the lab results of the competition's Tier 3-engine-equipped tractors. The 8335R John Deere tractor was the first at the Nebraska test site to attain Interim Tier 4 engine requirements.
