Taking only nine minutes, the parade has secured its place as one of the world's shortest processions. Though it is a brief event, the residents of the area make it count, reported the news source.

Veterans of Roy Racy VFW Post 1473 led the parade, which started a 11 a.m., and the front-end loaders and used heavy equipment operators concluded the procession at 11:09. In between there were llamas, dogs, horses, go-carts, ATVs, riding John Deere mowers and several politicians, according to the Press.

Several area residents rode on their horses or used John Deere tractors, the preferred and traditional transportation for the region's farmers, the news source reported.

Along with holding the world's second-shortest parade, the Labor Day celebration that is held in Spirit Lake also features a mountain bike ride and a car show for residents to enjoy, according to the Spirit Lake Chamber of Commerce.
