An Ohio family has used the same John Deere tractor for four generations, showing that the agricultural equipment maker's products are built to last, Nebraska's The Fence Post reports.

The Scott family has worked the land in Crawford County, Ohio, for almost 100 years, starting with Elton Scott, who bought the Model 110 riding lawn tractor in 1967, the news source states. Scott then passed it on to his son Donovan, whose grandson, Dalton, now possesses the restored machine.

"We knew the lawn tractor needed restoration to maintain its worth," Donovan Scott told the news source. "The tractor ran very good, but the paint had dulled with extensive scratching. The mower deck had been welded several times." A neighbor who owns an auto-body shop did the necessary work.

According to John Deere's website, a new model riding lawn mower is the X300 Tractor with 42-inch Mulching Deck, which features removable gates to eject excess clippings. The gates are adjustable to attain the highest performance in a range of operating conditions. The trademarked CargO Mount system that comes with this model allows easy connection of optional attachments to the vehicle.
