Farm equipment wasn't the only thing on display during the 53rd Annual Rock River Thresheree, which was held recently in Wisconsin.

Along with the antique farm equipment, people attending the four-day event also got to take in machines that carve wood and make shingles. There were also corn shelling machines and steam train rides.

"A lot of people think we're just a tractor show or a farm show, but there's so much more to it than that," Bill Werfal, one of the event's organizers, told the Wisconsin State Journal. "We're a living, breathing museum of history. You get to experience it."

Though there were a number of old machines specializing in other tasks, antique farm equipment also was represented. Around 500 restored tractors were featured during the event, which was held at the Rock River Thresheree grounds in Edgerton, Wisconsin. The purpose of the event is to give people a taste of what farming was like in decades past.

Though old farm equipment may be featured at the show in Wisconsin, the 56th Annual Farm Progress Show showcased some of the newer pieces of farm equipment farmers may consider buying. The show was held from September 1 to September 3 in Decatur, Illinois.
