In a recent article for AllAboutLawns.com, columnist Joe Cooper said there are some things people can still do when the winter months set in. For example, some weeds are able to resist the cold and snow brought about by the season, so weeding is still an option for some homeowners.
However, there are other things that people can put off until the spring. For example, putting grass seed on dead patches in grass can wait until warmer temperatures set in.
"Chances are, those pesky patches in your lawn won't get worse during the winter," Cooper said. "Your lawn will be preserved beneath snowfall or simply by the colder temperatures."
When spring finally does roll around, one thing people may also consider is sharpening the blades on their lawn mowers. Furthermore, other maintenance issues like changing the oil and filters on a tractor should be handled before a person uses it for that first mow of the season.
