Some may use their day-to-day wheels, while others spring for a limo when it comes to getting to prom. Michael Smith Jr., on the other hand, opted for a used tractor.

According to a report from the Associated Press, Michael drove the tractor to his date Destiny Metcalf's home. The surprise mode of transportation was kept secret by the couple, the wire service said.

"I've farmed all my life and I've always been on one, and nobody's ever come to the prom in a tractor," Michael said. "It seemed like the right thing to do."

Of course, more conventional destinations for used tractors, especially this time of year, include farmers' fields as producers get agricultural equipment ready for spring planting. Last year's planting season brought some trouble for farmers, as wet conditions delayed planting and harvesting.

This year may bring more of the same, as parts of the Midwest and the Northeast are facing the potential of wet conditions, which could include flooding. Having moist ground could make it difficult for farmers to get agricultural equipment through the planting process.
