Agricultural Secretary Tom Vilsack outlined the priorities for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the 2012 Farm Bill during a speech at the John Deere Des Moines, Iowa Works, according to Biodiesel Magazine.

"This legislation and the bills that Congress will pass is really about keeping pace with the changing needs of agriculture and the challenges which face rural America," Vilsack said against the backdrop of massive John Deere tractors. "It's about providing an adequate food supply for our nation and the world."

The Farm Bill that was outlined by Vilsack contained plans for the use of energy, the incorporation of nutrition into the industry and an overview of the current state of the sector, according to the magazine.
