Riding around on a used tractor may be a chore that many young people have to take care of.

While some fret at the responsibility of having to use their time for taking care of their parents' lawn, others revel in the opportunity, going so far as to start their own businesses centered around landscaping. In a recent report in Illinois newspaper The Daily Herald, 18-year-old Wheaton resident Christian Dagenais was featured for the effort he put forward in starting his own yard enterprise.

"As soon as I was strong enough to push the mower, my dad let me do it because I wouldn't give it back," Dagenais told Daily Herald columnist Burt Constable.

Since that time, the young man has started a business that has landed some lucrative contracts. He has a number of used mowers and other equipment under his care, along with employees who help him take care of the work.

Dagenais isn't alone when it comes to younger people attempting an enterprise in lawn care. Recently, Marty Walleser, a junior at a Wisconsin high school, was awarded a contract by La Crosse to take care of lots owned by the city.ADNFCR-2034-ID-19866464-ADNFCR
